Things to do

Eriskay is paradise for those who enjoy wildlife and the great outdoors.  It is also ideal for those who just want to get away from it all and relax in one of the most beautiful , tranquil places in Scotland.

Taigh Mo Sheanair is situated next to the beach at Am Baile.  It has stunning views across the Sound of Barra and on a Summers evening the sunset from the decking  is something to behold.

From Taigh Mo Sheanair it is a one minute walk to the islands only pub called “Am Politician”.  It is named after the SS Politician, a freighter which ran aground off the island during World War II. Its cargo consisted of 15,000 bottles of whisky and inspired the film “Whisky Galore”.  Food is served daily from 12:00 until 20:30 in the Summer months.

If you enjoy golf Askernish Golf Course is a 15 minute drive from Taigh Mo Sheanair.  Askernish is  an 18-hole links course that was first laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1891.  It was abandoned in the 1920’s but is now fully restored and offers links golf in some of the most beautiful island scenery in Scotland.  Visit www.askernishgolfclub.com for further details.
